Secondary Curriculum
ECS partners with Cambridge to provide our secondary students with cutting-edge curriculum that nurtures each individual to become a life-long learner who is confident in working with information and ideas and is equipped to be able to make intellectual and innovative decisions using the knowledge and skills they attain during their studies.
Year 7 and 8 students learn using the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum and continue with the IGCSE curriculum when they move on to Year 9 in which they will be given the freedom to customize their own learning journey by selecting the stream they are most interested in.
The 5 streams introduced to the upper secondary students are Science, Commerce, Arts and Humanities, Computing, and Music. This opportunity offers them a head-start in considering their future academic paths, increases personal interest and motivation in their studies, and ensures that they are learning in a way that fulfills their maximum potential. With the guidance of our mentors, students can get the support and help they need in selecting a path that they are most passionate about.
We understand that every student is different – endowed by God a unique identity. Our role as educators is to help each student unlock his/her optimum potential by actively participating at every step of their learning journey. Starting from kindergarten up to high-school, mentors are present to observe and guide each student to discover more about themselves. Mentors provide assistance based on our 5K principles for students to identify their own strengths and interests so they can confidently select the subject pathways at high school that put emphasis on knowledge and skill required in their field of interest. As they delve into their field of interest earlier, they are preparing themselves with the competencies needed in higher education and at the workplace.
